Usage
සංස්කරණයThis template may be used for creating citations in "References" sections and on discussion pages to lyrics from a song.
For indicating quotations in dictionary entries, use {{quote-song}}
.
Sample templates
සංස්කරණය- Most basic parameters for English citations
#* {{cite-song|year=|author=|title=|url=|album=|text=}}
- Most basic parameters for non-English citations
#* {{cite-song|year=|author=|title=|url=|album=|text=|t=|lang=}}
- Commonly used parameters
#* {{cite-song|lyricist=|composer=|title=|url=|album=|artist=|year=|text=|t=|lang=}}
- All available parameters
#* {{cite-song|lyricist=|composer=|author=|authorlink=|authorlabel=|title=|trans-title=|url=|archiveurl=|archivedate=|album=|trans-album=|format=|location=|publisher=|year=|year_published=|date=|oclc=|id=|artist=|note=|page=|pages=|pageurl=|text=|passage=|text_block=|passage_block=|t=|translation=|lang=}}
Certain basic parameters can be used in the template without any named parameters, as follows:
#* {{cite-song|[year]|[author]|[title]|[album]|[url]|[text]|[translation]}}
This will not work if any of the parameters contains an equals ("=") sign. The value of any parameter containing an equals sign must be surrounded by <nowiki>
tags, like this: "<nowiki>http://foo.com?id=bar</nowiki>
". Alternatively, use a named parameter like url
.
The following example:
{{cite-song|author=[[w:Madonna (entertainer)|Madonna]]; {{w|Stephen Bray}}; {{w|Patrick Leonard}}|artist=Madonna|title=Where’s the Party|album=[[w:True Blue (Madonna album)|True Blue]]|year=1986|note=track 5|text=Don't want to grow old too fast / Don't want to let the '''system''' get me down / I've got to find a way to make the good times last / And if you'll show me how, I'm ready now}}
produces this:
- Madonna; Stephen Bray; Patrick Leonard (lyrics and music) (1986), chapter WHERE’S THE PARTY, in True Blue, performed by Madonna, track 5: “Don't want to grow old too fast / Don't want to let the system get me down / I've got to find a way to make the good times last / And if you'll show me how, I'm ready now”
